Aaron's first day of school is today! Yea! He called earlier this morning and he is very excited. I am very happy for him. I know he feels relieved that he is finally getting an education and an education that he is not scared to receive. Now he's just a year and a half away from a career instead of around 4 years or longer. I'm glad that he's happy. We just have to pray that when he graduates, there will be plenty of local jobs available for him.

Nothing all that major happening on my end. I guess right now I'm just biding my time till my student's funeral tomorrow. I know we (as in all the teachers) are dreading going. This is way different than Marvin's death. Marvin's death was an innocent accident. Just as Marvin was innocent. This death... this death is pure evil. That's all there is to it. A young man being killed. Gang crap. There's no sense to it. I just pray to God that one of my students wasn't his murderer. I don't know how to handle that thought. It scares me to think that I taught a person that has the capability to take a life and harm another one. It just scares me....

On a lighter side, for our first anniversary, we decided to get a membership to the Y. We've been enjoying the water aerobics class. It's good for my knees. I figure I should get in shape that way and if I want to take it further, then I can start doing things outside of the water. Plus, they have a whirlpool to help with my achy joints.

You know... 26 is too young to have achy joints. It sucks. Heh...

OK, sorry I've been whiney. I know it's not any fun to keep reading about this stuff. But, it's less fun to live through it.

Yeah, I certainly know what it's like to feel anxious about the future! The Lord will provide, though. Any particular reason you guys would want to stay in the area?

Yeah, I know what you mean! After [info]librarygal's pool party on July 4, I realized that swimming is my most preferred form of exercise. I was wiped out once I got out of the pool and realized I had been working hard, but felt so buoyant and had so much fun at the time! I'm hoping to do something like that as well, hope you enjoy your membership.
  • Achy joints? Hah! Try, "26 is too young for a cane"! ;-)
